When did you start your journey?
My real estate journey started when I was about 12 years old, with my parents. My stepfather and Mother would purchase homes in cash in my hometown, make them livable then rent them out. My job was to help make them livable. So, I learned how to do a lot of things in a house at a very young age, there wasn’t much that my stepfather did not teach my sister and me to do. Imagine learning how to do sheetrock, bricklaying, plumbing, and painting by the age of 15. LOL, It really molded my work ethic.
Did you get any time to reflect on how far you came?
I do, I actually make time and I do it daily and weekly. Daily because I really evaluate how my current day went at the end of each day. Weekly, I think about where I was at this time 1,3,5,7, and 10 years ago.
What’s the hardest part of your job?
The hardest part of my job is having my daughter see me in work mode 90% of the time.
Do you have anything new to tell the upcoming professionals who do what you do?
I would say find a work-life balance, take a step back from making excuses, be teachable, and do what you said you would do.
What does collaboration mean to you and how does it relate to you and your brand today?
The basic definition to me is two or more parties working together to meet a professional goal while enhancing one another. Collaboration is also a form of exercising accountability with whom you are collaborating with. To elaborate more, when magnified; Collaboration can be seen as a remedy to break down barriers between those involved all while creating something greater. Collaboration is mandatory for my brand because it is the gateway and only way to close deals and build solid relationships with other brands and professionals.
Why did you get into your niche?
Because I am a Veteran, once I saw the type of wealth you can gain through real estate doing it by myself, I knew I wanted to help other Veterans see it through.
Where do you see yourself/brand in the next 5 years?
In the next 5 years, I see myself growing more prestigiously, growing my family, attaining and maintaining my lifelong health and wealth goals, as well as gaining even more wealth and experience by acquiring more Real Estate properties for my portfolio and selling more Real Estate to Veterans. I also see myself starting a federally funded financial institution that helps service members get the funding they require for necessities related to home buying and estate planning.
